Herman Daly was professor emeritus at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. He was the author of numerous books, including Steady-State Economics, Beyond Growth, and For the Common Good (with theologian John Cobb, Jr.). Among the awards he received are the Right Livelihood Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Council for Science and the Environment. He died in October, 2022.
