Herman Daly is professor emeritus at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. He is the author of numerous books, including Steady-State Economics, Beyond Growth, and For the Common Good (with theologian John Cobb, Jr.). Among the awards he has received are the Right Livelihood Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Council for Science and the Environment.
