Independent media sources

In an era of corporate controlled media, internet conspiracy theories and truth-denying politicians, it can be hard to know what to believe.

But the problem goes beyond the fabrication of “alternative facts”: some important information is simply filtered out of most mainstream and internet-based news sources. Stories, for example, about efforts to resist the widening spread of corporate control, or about the multitude of inspiring local initiatives happening all over the world.

On this page, you’ll find a list of news sources that provide reasoned, fact-based critiques of the global economy, and real-life stories of positive change.
