Economics of Happiness conferences

Since 2012, Local Futures has organized 25 Economics of Happiness conferences in 8 countries. Working with local partners, we bring together internationally-recognized speakers, local leaders, activists, and citizens for workshops, discussions, and networking.

Each unique event kick-starts critical debate about the global corporate economy, and explores locally-adapted alternatives that benefit people and Nature.

Powerful talks

From the start, we’ve made recordings of conference talks available for free. This year, we’ve collected the best of these talks and grouped them by theme to make it even easier to connect with these transformative moments.

You can also find non-English talks and many translated materials.

Dive deeper into each conference

We’ve held over 20 conferences on four different continents. Highlights includes a close collaboration with the city government of Jeonju in South Korea, which has hosted an Economics of Happiness conference every year since 2015. In 2019 we also held a conference in Ladakh, India, a place where Local Futures has deep roots and where we continue to collaborate with local leaders.
