Localization, Degrowth & Wellbeing 2018, UK

Wednesday, June 20th, 2018
(this event has passed)

With Helena Norberg-Hodge & Jason Hickel

1-3-5 Flitcroft St,
London, WC2H 8DH
UK

During this event attendees explored an economics of personal, social and ecological well-being, and digged deeply into the growing worldwide movement for degrowth and economic localisation with Jason Hickel and Helena Norberg-Hodge. Through this conversation, participants developed an understanding of the situation our economic system has put us in, and how to mobilize yourself to take a stand against current economic thinking.

The event consisted of a 30-minute keynote talk by Helena, a 20-minute talk by Jason, discussion between the two, and a Q&A and discussion with the audience.

Co-organized by Local Futures and the Advaya Initiative, a non-profit, grassroots ecological organisation aiming to inspire activism and healing in our relationships with ourselves and the natural world.
